Elvey Farm Kent is getting ready to reopen for guests.
Nick Leggett and Sonja Johnson purchased Elvey Farm back in January 2019 but only took possession of the property in early November 2019 following vacation by the incumbent tenants.
Nick & Sonja then moved into the property during March 2020, just prior to the first lock down, following a minor renovation of the 19th century oast house.
Since November 2019 and following large scale clearance of the gardens and grounds, reinstatement works have been underway to all the external landscaped areas. This includes new stone / brick walling & paving, fencing, drainage, lighting, lawn reinstatement and installation of 1000 Hornbeam hedging plants.
Phase one of the buildings renovation programme covers the attached stable block wing. These extensive refurbishment works, which have been undertaken to create five high quality letting suites are nearing completion and further information in this regard will be published in September 2021. Information will also follow shortly regarding an opening date and booking information.
Later phases of work include the renovation of the detached granary building to provide two more letting suites and the creation of an enlarged private house by combining the old bar, restaurant, commercial kitchen and the 15th century hall house together into one property. In addition, it is hoped to convert the old agricultural barn into a commercial unit, providing five self contained office suites and a cafe, all with south facing views overlooking the open countryside. Permitted Development for the conversion has been obtained and Planning Permission is expected very shortly from Ashford Borough Council.
It has been decided that the property will no longer offer functions i.e. weddings / birthday parties or restaurant dining.
Nick & Sonja very much look forward to welcoming new and previous guests back to this idyllic setting, nestled in the Kent Countryside betwixt the historic villages of Pluckley & Egerton.
